The Riverside City Improvement District (CID) is t The Riverside City Improvement District (CID) is thrilled to share that a Partnership Recognition Celebration was held on 14 November 2023, in collaboration with the esteemed University of Mpumalanga (UMP). This landmark agreement will foster collaboration and synergy between the Riverside CID and UMP to jointly drive innovative projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life within the Lowveld community and beyond. This signifies a significant step forward in Riverside CID’s ongoing commitment to community development and a brighter future for the Lowveld region. The signing ceremony took place at the University of Mpumalanga, where leaders from both organisations came together to formalise this visionary partnership. The Riverside CID and UMP will focus on a range of initiatives, including community engagement programmes, educational opportunities, sustainable development projects, and more. The ultimate goal is to uplift the Lowveld community and create a prosperous, inclusive, and vibrant environment for all residents.

The Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative (GRB The Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative (GRBI) took another momentous step in its mission to create a thriving interconnected green space as it hosted a delightful Family Fun Park Stroll on November 12 in partnership with Green Valley Estate. The event aimed to showcase the significant progress achieved in the development of a green oasis spanning approximately 280 hectares in the Greater Riverside area of Mbombela. The Family Fun Park Stroll offered an engaging and immersive experience for attendees, allowing them to witness firsthand the envisioned potential of the GRBI project. During the Park Stroll, attendees relished the opportunity to embark on a picturesque route, either accompanied by their furry companions or with their loved ones. The event was not just about exploration and enjoyment; it was a celebration of the community's dedication to the environment. As a token of appreciation, each participant received a well-deserved finisher's medal. Culminating the delightful stroll, Mamma's Khaya, a local refreshment service provider operating within the GRBI as part of the Riverside CID's initiative to bolster local trade, generously provided a delectable meal, leaving everyone savouring both the experience and the flavours of community support. Enthusiasts of outdoor activities can anticipate the development of cycling and walking trails, a ‘Trim Park,’ ziplining, and various other suitable recreational options that will cater to a wide spectrum of interests. "We're thrilled to share the progress and vision of the Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative with the community through events like the Family Fun Park Stroll," said Shivon Wiggins, General Manager for the Riverside CID. "This initiative is not just about green spaces; it's about creating a harmonious hub for people, nature, and sustainable economic growth."
